Stay healthy my friends,
Good news friends,”Revival: The Gaia Origin, Book Two” was selected to be one of 450 covers competing for the September 2020 book cover contest!
The contest will now have 4 rounds, one round per week in September:
• First, all the selected entries will contest for the next round. (Duration 1st – 7th)
• Second, 100 top-voted covers will compete to enter the third round. (Duration 8th – 14th)
• Third, top 50 book covers from the previous round. (Duration 15th – 21st)
• Fourth, top 24 book covers will play the last round in the chase. (Duration 22nd – Month end)
The 3 winners will be announced on the last day of the month.
You can vote once per round, so that’s four total voting opportunities if my cover makes it into the final round.
Thank you in advance for your support!
Great news friends: Revival, The Gaia Origin Book Two is now available for pre-order on Amazon. It will be released to all distribution channels on October 26th. The price at release will be $4.99 (ebook) but it is just $2.99 during the pre-order window. Reserve your copy today!
I know it has been awhile but rest assured I have been hard at work getting “Revival” ready to release. The first round of edits was completed last week and it is back with the editor for round two. On Monday I sent out advance reader copies to those of you that volunteered to beta read for me (thank you volunteers!).
If you want to read for me there is still time! Just send me a message via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) I’ll send you the PDF. Please note that all feedback must be received by 5pm Friday September 11th in order to be included in the final release copy. Feedback received after that date will be accepted and incorporated at some future date.
I’m really exited to get “Revival: Gaia Origin Series Book Two” on the shelves! Assuming the editing goes as planned, I am targeting an early to mid October release.
Good news friends. I just sent my final draft of Revival to my publisher to begin the editing process. I don’t have hard dates yet but I will let you know as soon as I get a pre-order date. I am so happy to have finally reached this milestone that I can hardly stand it! Like Restoration, the ending was a challenge but I’m happy where I landed. Hopefully you all will enjoy reading it as much I’ve enjoyed writing it!
As always, thank you for your ongoing encouragement and support!
Hello friends. It’s been two full weeks since my home state of Georgia began the delicate process of returning people to work. In the relatively small county where I live (~24,000 people), we’ve been blessed to have had only thirty-four documented Covid-19 cases and just one death. I believe those low numbers are due in large part to our predominately rural existence. Most of us live on multi-acre properties and many of us can’t even see our closest neighbors. We also tend to be more self-sufficient than the average city dweller, with our wells, gardens, greenhouses, chickens, cows, goats, etc.
This stands in stark contrast to our large cities, where people are stacked on top of each other like so much firewood and everyone is critically dependent on a wide range of public and private services to survive. As a one-time city dweller myself, I can tell you that I could never go back, and especially not now. I believe that the coronavirus pandemic has changed us forever, and we will never return to the world as we knew it just three short months ago.
In my book, Restoration, I envision a future world plagued by war, famine, and pandemic, and I predict a dire decline in our population. I also predict that the survivors will go to any length to live another day, even at the cost of their ethics, morals, and virtually everything else that makes us human. It is my sincerest hope and prayer that those predictions prove false and, instead, we emerge from this crisis as a better version of ourselves. I hope that we all find ourselves stepping out into our brave new world with more kindness in our hearts, more patience and tolerance for one another, and a deep-seated desire to make the world a better place in whatever ways we can–big or small.
Be safe, stay healthy, and live boldly my friends!
Greetings friends, I hope your time at home has been as healthy, happy, and productive as mine has been.
I consider myself incredibly blessed, and never a day goes by that I don’t give thanks for my health, my family, and my friends. Nothing matters more in life than the people we surround ourselves with, and the love that we show them. Jobs come and go, fortunes rise and fall, but the love you hold for yourself and others should never falter.
If this pandemic has taught me anything, it is time is the greatest gift of all. We each have a finite amount of it, and every day tests our ability to spend it well. I know that the quarantine has been hard on almost everyone, but I try to find the good in all things. For me, this quarantine has been a gift of time unburdened by the hustle and bustle of modern life. As inconvenient and financially devastating as it has been, the quarantine has allowed me to spend more time doing the things I love with the person I love most in all the world–my wife. I hope and pray that the world is never again forced to endure another pandemic, but I am eternally grateful for the many days we’ve spent together that would have normally been spent apart because of work and travel schedules.
That said, I am pleased to announce that my first rewrite of Revival is nearly complete and it will soon be headed to my publishing partner for a developmental edit (the first of several more edits to come). We originally planned to make Revival available for pre-order on the first of May, but we are pushing that back several weeks while we re-evaluate our fall release schedule. I’ll say more about that in an upcoming post but, as you can imagine, nearly everybody’s schedule has been impacted by the coronavirus and subsequent quarantine.
In the meantime, I updated my website with the descriptive text and synopsis for Revival, and I’ve even made the prologue available for you to preview. As I said, this is unedited text, so read at your own discretion, and please be kind when you find mistakes…they’ll all be fixed before publication, I promise!
Hello friends. I hope this finds you happy, healthy, and safely ensconced in your shelter of choice. In order to help ease your boredom, I am making the ebook version of Restoration free today through Easter (Sunday, April 12, 2020). You can also check out my website for links to Apple, Kobo, Google Play, and B&N.
I’m working hard to get Revival ready to go on pre-order in May, so stay tuned for more on that in the coming weeks. I hope you enjoy Restoration in the meantime (or re-enjoy if you read it previously)!
