These Trying Times

Hello friends. I hope this finds you happy, healthy, and safely ensconced in your shelter of choice. In order to help ease your boredom, I am making the ebook version of Restoration free today through Easter (Sunday, April 12, 2020). You can also check out my website for links to Apple, Kobo, Google Play, and B&N.

I’m working hard to get Revival ready to go on pre-order in May, so stay tuned for more on that in the coming weeks. I hope you enjoy Restoration in the meantime (or re-enjoy if you read it previously)!

Read Restoration For Free on NetGalley!

Hello friends. For the next thirty days, I am making Restoration available for free on NetGalley. All I ask is that you read it, enjoy it and, when you’re done, leave me an honest review. As most of you know, book two in The Gaia Origin series is scheduled to come out in September of this year, and I’d really like to boost the review count on Amazon for Restoration before then because let’s face it, reviews mean everything in today’s world!

If you’re interested, please visit NetGalley.com today!

Thank you in advance for your support!!

It’s Been Way Too Long!

Hello friends. I’m sorry it’s been so long since my last blog post but I’ve been hard at work wrapping up my next book: Revival, The Gaia Origin Series Book Two! I just had a call with my publisher today and we are making it available for pre-order on Amazon starting May 1 (if not sooner a little sooner than that…we’re still working on finalizing the cover). Stay tuned for more info as we get a little closer.

In other exciting news, the good people over at manybooks.net made me their featured author today and you can read the full interview here. I like doing interviews because it gives me a chance to tell my story and to connect with readers and future readers. Please let me know if you happen to know anyone who wants to review my books and/or interview me. I’m always happy to oblige!

In other news, the days are getting warmer and spring is almost here. I can’t wait!!

Hopefully, the flu and coronavirus season will soon be behind us but, until then, please stay healthy. You’ve probably heard it a thousand times by now but my wife is a nurse so I will say it again: wash your hands frequently, don’t touch your face, and stay away from crowds.

Until next time, be well,

Dan

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year friends!

2019 was a fantastic year for me, and I am super excited to see what 2020 brings! Restoration received a lot of really positive reviews, with the latest being from the wonderful team over at TopShelf Magazine. I didn’t win the TopShelf 2019 Book Awards Grand Prize, but I was honored to be considered in a field full of incredible authors. The grand prize went to Ramcy Diek for her debut novel Storm at Keizer Manor. I haven’t read it yet but it’s on my reading list for the coming year. As a new writer struggling to build a fan base, I find it incredibly motivating and inspiring to when other new writers achieve recognition for their hard work. If they can do it, so can I!  🙂

Here’s wishing you and yours a year of good health, great happiness, and even greater success! May 2020 be your best year yet!!

Yours truly,

Dan

Happy Holidays!

It’s hard to believe that 2019 is nearly over.

The year has flown by and I am left wondering where all those days went. Sometimes I reflect on my childhood (when time passed slowly and tomorrow could never get here soon enough and I wonder at how much things have changed. Now, it seems as though today never lasts long enough and tomorrow rushes by like a speeding train. Time, and how we perceive it, remains one of the great unsolved mysteries.

In Restoration, people use cloning and other technologies to extend their lives well beyond a typical human lifespan. Their ability to defy death allows them to perceive time in ways you and I could never imagine. Imagine the choices you might make if you could live life without fear–live life knowing that a new body was available any time you wanted one.

What would you do with unlimited time? Would you take more risks? Would you push yourself to achieve goals you currently think are unattainable? Would you travel more, experience more, and love more? I know I would!

Time is our most valuable asset and, unlike in Restoration, we don’t yet have the ability to buy more. We only have what’s been given to us and every new day is a gift. Regardless of how you plan to celebrate this holiday season, my wish for you is that you will continue to receive the daily gift of more time. My other wish is that you will use it well. Life is too short to not make every day count!

Speaking of counting: There are just nine days left until Christmas. To celebrate, I am offering the ebook version of Restoration for just 99 cents on all platforms (Amazon, Apple, Google, etc) now through Christmas day. Please consider picking up a copy for yourself and the other avid sci-fi readers in your friends and family circle. I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Best wishes for a joyful holiday season,

Dan

Authorvoices.com Interview Posted!

Happy holidays friends! Here is my recent interview with authorvoices.com: https://authorvoices.com/authorvoices-author-interviews/interview-daniel-c-mcwhorter/

I’m learning to enjoy interviews. Besides giving me a chance to share my backstory with my readers, it also gives me a chance to reflect on my life and the journey that led me here. Every day is a gift, and I am so excited to see what the future will bring!

In other news: I am getting close to finalizing my first draft of Revival and hope to have it revised and ready for the first round of editing after the first of the year. Based on advice from my publisher, we are probably going to wait to release it until later in 2020 but more on that in a future post.

Cheers til next time!
