Happy New Year!

Happy New Year friends!

2019 was a fantastic year for me, and I am super excited to see what 2020 brings! Restoration received a lot of really positive reviews, with the latest being from the wonderful team over at TopShelf Magazine. I didn’t win the TopShelf 2019 Book Awards Grand Prize, but I was honored to be considered in a field full of incredible authors. The grand prize went to Ramcy Diek for her debut novel Storm at Keizer Manor. I haven’t read it yet but it’s on my reading list for the coming year. As a new writer struggling to build a fan base, I find it incredibly motivating and inspiring to when other new writers achieve recognition for their hard work. If they can do it, so can I! ¬†ūüôā

Here’s wishing you and yours a year of good health, great happiness, and even greater success! May 2020 be your best year yet!!

Yours truly,

Happy Holidays!

It’s hard to believe that 2019 is nearly over.

The year has flown by and I am left wondering where all those days went. Sometimes I reflect on my childhood (when time passed slowly and tomorrow could never get here soon enough and I wonder at how much things have changed. Now, it seems as though today never lasts long enough and tomorrow rushes by like a speeding train. Time, and how we perceive it, remains one of the great unsolved mysteries.

In Restoration, people use cloning and other technologies to extend their lives well beyond a typical human lifespan. Their ability to defy death allows them to perceive time in ways you and I could never imagine. Imagine the choices you might make if you could live life without fear–live life knowing that a new body was available any time you wanted one.

What would you do with unlimited time? Would you take more risks? Would you push yourself to achieve goals you currently think are unattainable? Would you travel more, experience more, and love more? I know I would!

Time is our most valuable asset and, unlike in Restoration, we don’t yet have the ability to buy more. We only have what’s been given to us and every new day is a gift. Regardless of how you plan to celebrate this holiday season, my wish for you is that you will continue to receive the daily gift of more time. My other wish is that you will use it well. Life is too short to not make every day count!

Speaking of counting: There are just nine days left until Christmas. To celebrate, I am offering the ebook version of Restoration¬†for just 99 cents on all platforms (Amazon, Apple, Google, etc) now through Christmas day. Please consider picking up a copy for yourself and the other avid sci-fi readers in your friends and family circle. I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Best wishes for a joyful holiday season,

Authorvoices.com Interview Posted!

Happy holidays friends! Here is my recent interview with authorvoices.com: https://authorvoices.com/authorvoices-author-interviews/interview-daniel-c-mcwhorter/

I’m learning to enjoy interviews. Besides giving me a chance to share my backstory with my readers, it also gives me a chance to reflect on my life and the journey that led me here. Every day is a gift, and I am so excited to see what the future will bring!

In other news: I am getting close to finalizing my first draft of Revival and hope to have it revised and ready for the first round of editing after the first of the year. Based on advice from my publisher, we are probably going to wait to release it until later in 2020 but more on that in a future post.

Cheers til next time!

Restoration Now Available Everywhere (well, not really…but a lot more places)!

Hello friends. Just a quick post to let you know that Restoration is now available from these fine booksellers: Apple, Google Play, Kobo, Amazon & Audible. Yay!

I’m also working on Barnes&Noble¬†and am hoping to have it available there very soon. I am also looking into¬†expanded audiobook distribution with ListenUp.com, audiobooks.com, and downpour.com.

One of my goals for 2019 was to have my book available through all the major channels and I am very, very close!

I continue to work hard on Revival and am getting really close to having a finished first draft. More about that in my next post. For those that are eagerly awaiting book 2, stay tuned. I will give you a preview of the first few chapters very soon. Please realize that these are first draft chapters with little to no editing and are very much subject to change. But it should at least give you an idea of where I am going with the story. I hope you like it!

Restoration got a makeover!

Good day friends. Just a quick note to let you know that the new cover for Restoration is done! The interior of the book has also been reworked to correct some of the errors that slipped through the first time around. And, last but not least, I tweaked the opening and other parts of the story to improve readability and increase immersion.

Now, without further ado, here’s the new cover!

Revival Book Cover Preview

Good day friends, I hope this finds you well. I apologize for not posting in several weeks, but I’ve been consumed with work on Revival, the second book in the Restoration series.

That said, I have a few announcements that I am dying to share with you!

  1. I am now working with a publisher, and we’ve been hard at work re-designing and repositioning Restoration. I had no idea how much was involved to create a best-seller (beyond writing a good story, that is) when I first started this venture!
  2. The series title is now “The Gaia Origin”. So Restoration will be “The Gaia Origin Book 1”, Revival will be “The Gaia Origin Book 2”, etc.
  3. We are redesigning the cover of Restoration to fit into the branding we’ve developed for the overall series. It will be a couple more weeks before I can share it with you, but here’s a sneak-peak of the Revival cover mockup as a teaser!

As always, thanks for reading!
